88 Speedo?
I just found an 88 coupe that has a 140 speedo. Is this a potential SSP car? I've had two '89 FHP cars with 160 speedo's, but I have no experience with '88 and earlier car's. I haven't been able to get in touch with the seller to ask anymore obvious questions.

If it says Certified calibration it's an SSP speedo. Doesn't mean it's an SSP, someone may have swapped it out. I believe Ford racing used to sell a 140 mph speedo.

That's what I was thinking, but to clarify the 87-88 SSP cars had 140 speedo's and the 89-93 had 160 correct?

82-89 140mph, 89-93 160mph.

they made the one ford motorsport speedometer that goes to 140 as a aftermarket part because the stock 87-88s had 5.0s that had 85mph speedos and owners swapped them out they also made a 160 but even though if it says certified calibration check for the trunk release if it is a civilian car it will be in the glove box if it is a ssp it will be below the steering wheel on the sides or near the right side of the cluster cover
