Default Was 1993 grey interior not Titanium?

Hi
I thought all 90-93 mustangs with grey interior were Titanium.
Mine is not Titanium but a shade of the older smoked grey, I thought maybe a PO had painted it, but every panel I pull, looks smoked grey on the inside well.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

thanks
Sean

1993 is called Opal. It is a little darker than Titanium.

Is that a 1993 only thing? Does anyone sell paint that matches?

Yes. It was specific only to the '93 model fox bodies. (I believe) '87-92 was Titanium. Ford did continue with Opal in later models.

Actually, 87 - 89 was a gray called "smoke gray", then in 1990 , Ford changed and went to the "lighter" gray called Titanium from 90 - 92, then in 93, Ford made a change again that was "opal" gray that was once again very similiar to the smoke gray but had more of a blueish hue in the color......

I restored/refurbished every piece of interior on the 93 FHP car. I was able to have my paint guy mix up a quart of vinyl dye that was a perfect match. I took a piece of the interior that had not been subjected to sunlight (not faded) and actually color matched it.

Beware.... the SEM factory formula is NOT correct. We tried that first and it was not correct. He modified the original formula and documented what he added. The finished product is an exact match. I will scan the formula and post it in this thread this evening when i get home.

I suggest anyone repainting/dying an interior use this method. Buying the dye in 'rattle can" version from a vendor has NEVER resulted in the correct color.

Default formula

this was a pefect match on an interior piece NOT faded. I used the back side of an armrest that had never seen the light of day.
