SROD VASCAR cable
Ok...started a new thread on this. Matt, take a look at this and see what you think. You posted a cruise-equipped, '89 correct?
The hand-model in the photos is Jim Y. (Nodrama) who was kind enough to lend the use of his hands for these pictures free of charge (and copyright).

Final one....the lower is grey, despite the grime.
Got the brake situation fixed in half the time it would have normally taken me, thanks to Jim.

Nope, the one I posted was exactly what you have posted, a non-cruise speedometer cable. That is exactly what the one that goes in the T-5 looks like. Excellent job on the brakes.

Ok...we were trying to be careful with the cable, since it's the original in the CSP car. Does the large, round end come off? I did the swap on the non-cruise '93 FHP, but I can't remember if it comes off. If it does, then it looks like all of the cables (non-cruise, SROD or T-5) are going to be about the same.

I haven't tried to take it off. I think they are crimpt (sp) on and do not come off. It looks exactly like the non-cruise speedometer cable though...
This is from 50rest.com non-cruise: with cruise: These are identicle to the OEM Ford unit! Matt

Well....that further complicates things.
The split VASCAR cable from my '93 FHP (non-cruise) looks exactly like the bottom cable. The same from the '83 (non-cruise) looks like the top one. Here's the cable from the '93.

Your 93 FHP might have this one it.
This is needed for the PCM to compensate fuel and timing in mass air cars. Matt

That looks familiar.....the cable end snaps into it (via the clip). Thanks for posting it. Are you also saying that the '88-up cars (non-cruise) had this piece?

They should if they were mass air equiped engines. I know Texas 86-88 were non-mass air engines and then some for the California 88's were equipped with it. So yes all the California mass air equipped 88's and any Mustang from 89-93 with factory mass air should have the speed sensor.
