The car in question from the Mecum auction, is/was Oscar Paz's old FHP turned CHP. Notice the LX emblem on the trunk lid.

Those pics are of the same car. Look at the map light in the rear shot. Same as in the one that was sold.

Look closely at the switches, on the instrument cluster. No rear defrost #1 give away it's not a real CHP! All CHP's had rear defrost.

I don't think I have ever seen an SSP with vinyl/plastic flooring?

I'd like to have the radar unit for MY CHP mustang !!
I'll trade him my extra CHP mustang shotgun rack for the radar unit.
Wrong gun rack and radio head mount, looks like the radio head pad is wrong also like Mike stated.
Trunk release and is that a lectrolock release next to it ? wrong also.

Very nice clean car ! interior especially ! Looks like either rubber floors or dark gray carpet. Wrong on both.
But a clean car.

Looks like they tried their best at it.

AND............. these are CA county or city plates, not state plates. 1993 would have been white with red CALIFORNIA at the top, plus, State vehicle plates had a diamond E plate. Blue plates were used in the 70's.

CHP mustangs had no stinking LX on the trunk. Who is this guy ??
Plus the antenna ball mount was painted black below the spring. It wasn't chrome.
