I'm not listing but thought it might be helpful for the forum if you had a specific agency in mind?

In addition to what Mike said, I wanted to make another comment. Your username MAY put off some sellers. This site's Mission Statement is "Dedicated to the promotion, protection, and restoration of the 1982-1993 Special Service Police Mustangs." Seeing the term 'racing' in your username may scare some sellers, many of whom have invested serious amounts of time and money into the restoration of their beloved SSP. I don't want to come off as an @ss, but thought you should know the position of most members on this site.

As SSP enthusiasts, we have no control over what happens to a car once we sell it. A buyer can promise that they will maintain/improve a restored car, but once the buyer plunks down the cash it is theirs to do with whatever they want. At the risk of raising the ire of many members here, I will offer the following suggestion:

If you are looking to hot rod an SSP, I would suggest that you concentrate your search on a larger agency that has many fine examples still around. Specifically, I'm thinking of SSP's from the California Highway Patrol and the Florida Highway Patrol. Not that those agencies are less deserving of having restored examples, but losing one of those SSP's to a hot rodder is far better than from an agency with very few examples still in existance.

I hope this doesn't turn into a huge debate - that's not my intention.

Good points, Bill...I don't think he's looking to mod out one, though. I saw an ad he posted a few months back looking for a car to restore.

My dad actually posted this thread. He vintage races/restores 1965-1970 mustang transam cars. He is looking for another SSP as I already have a Texas Highway Patrol DPS. California/Georgia/Florida only. You can PM me or email me at honda53s@yahoo.com as my dad never gets on the internet

Hey flattrack, love your car. I have one on my desk at work. Good luck with the search for your dad.

Hector, I wish I had been on the board more back when you had that car up for sale. It makes me sick to know I missed that.

Greg
