Default Please Don't Touch!

Well, I've never had one on my car and I always thought that owners that used them were being a bit of a fuss-budget but two choice incidents at the show I entered last Saturday may have changed my mind on them. I'm talking about "Do Not Touch" signs.

The first transgression happened when a gentleman showing his son some finer points on my car suddenly grabbed the driver's spotlight by the head and proceeded to wrench it rapidly from stop to stop! He already had his hand inside the car and was ready to start doing the same with the handle by the time I got to him and forcefully moved him away. He would have also been on the receiving end of some choice very words had the kid not been present.

The second involved three Pacific Islander dudes who took such an interest in my engine compartment, they decided to lean in for a closer look with two placing their palms flat on the tops of my front fenders and the third using my rad support for a chinning bar! These guys must have weighed 250-300# each and were built like sumo wrestlers so the potential for damage (to both the car and me!) was definitely there. I admonished them in the most gentlemanly manner as possible and they moved away without incident...whew!

Luckily, no lasting harm came to my car but now I'm starting to feel a bit paranoid about leaving it while at a showing. Anybody wish to share their experiences, observations and/or tips on this subject?

On the positiive side, I took a first in my division.
