Default Mustang Milestones

I haven't picked up a copy yet, but the Mustang Milestones magazine (Auto Trader publication) has put out a list of the top ten collectible Fox-body Mustangs in their latest issue.

The list looks like this:

10. '79 Indy Pace Car
9....'80-'81 Mustang Cobra
8....'82 GT
7....'84 20th Anniversary GT-350
6....'85-86 GT
5....'86-'93 Saleen
4....'87-'93 LX 5.0 Notchback
3....'92 LX 5.0 'Vert Special Edition
2....'93 Cobra
1....'82-93 Special Service Mustang

Nice to see the SSP cars get the top spot. The magazine also makes mention of early CHP cars or any '85 SSP as "special finds".

Jim D. from PPI put this email out this AM on the SSPony Yahoo eGroup list:

Quote:
The fact is: As far as production figures, the '82 SSP was the lowest production year followed by '83 then '84 according to Tom Sea's information that we have here... JD
I've never heard of Tom Sea, but his name comes up in Mustang Monthly articles online. If he or JD have production figures on these cars, I know we'd love to see them.

Anyone out there have any additional info?

I'm glad to see the 4-eyed cars get in the list too.

Not sure where these points came from, either, but I'm not complaining (IMO).

The cars go in chronological order from 79-93 and the SSP is top of the list. From the looks of it they could only come up with one definitive winner (plus the 93 Cobra- from day one) and took the safe route and listed them up by year.

I am disappointed that the SVO was not in there but they are probably right about it. Not much of a following and declining values due tot he fact that the community is a rough on people that try to sell the parts and cars at a high cost. They seem to discourage the appreciation of their own cars...

If you look at the list of honorable mentions they pretty much covered every other specialty model that is not ultra low production.
