Default 1986 FHP on ATL CL

This was on 4EP, but some of you aren't members there. I'm pretty sure this is "COPCARS" '86 FHP.

While I love the '86 ssp's I think the price is a little high, but that's me.

Below are the historical events for this vehicle listed in chronological order. Any discrepancies will be in bold text.

This is the message I got from the seller about the salvage history.

The report does not show an accident does it, only the salvage? I have known of this car and the owner since it came from auction and it was always black and cream until it was painted. I was able to talk to the restorer several months ago and he said it still had the original paint and no damage other than the normal dents and dings of a used car. I also went to the Georgia DMV and they said that title number had never been issued to this car. The DMV said they get hundreds of complaints a month about carfax and autochech reports. I have been all over it ond under it on a rack and it looks original, in fact the underside could use a good cleaning. Carfax will not admit to an error except in lawsuits, which is not worth it to me.

I have tried to price it reflecting the history report. It is nice and I would keep it if I had not lost my storage.

You can get the proper information posted to Carfax and Autocheck however it will take a little work on your part.

Write a letter to the Georgia Department of Revenue Motor Vehicle Division, Research Department. Include a $5.00 check and ask to research your car title information for the incorrect information and then ask for a letter stating that your car has no salvage history, that the title number is wrong or whatever your problem happens to be. You can check your title information by calling the Georgia DMV to make sure that the information reported by Carfax or Autocheck is incorrect. Again, this method is only if the information reported by Carfax or Autocheck is incorrect.

Once you receive the letter from the Georgia DMV on their letterhead paper you can fax that information to Carfax and/or Autocheck, whichever is reporting the incorrect information. I know Autocheck will remove the incorrect information if provided a state specific issued letter stating the information that Autocheck is reporting is incorrect. You will have to check with Carfax to see what their procedure is if any.

Very nice car, but agree it may be a little high for 180K miles. If the repaint is as high quality as claimed, it's marginally priced. I wouldn't mind owning it though.
