1987 chp front bumper holes?
I just recently bought a 87 chp mustang. I am now having it painted black. I noticed on the front passenger side front bumper it looks like someone drilled a bunch of holes in it. I was wondering if this is what California highway patrol did?? I was looking on this site and saw another chp that had the same exact holes.. Please help me with this because I was thinking of having them filled in if it wasnt done by chp. Thanks

This is a perfect situation where the VIN Project is useful. Take a look at the following page on a 92 CHP Mustang -
http://www.specialservicemustang.net...info111593.htm Do your holes look like the bottom picture of that 92? Based solely by your description, your holes were most likely made by the CHP for the siren. Here is a VIN Project page for a CHP car that is 4 digits away from the VIN you posted in an earlier thread - http://www.specialservicemustang.net...info184869.htm

Yep. 82-86 had a rectangular hole for the siren/PA speaker, then due to the curve of the 87-93 bumpers, holes were drilled instead of a large rectangle that would look hideous on the bumper.

Ok cool thanks. I'm going to just leave them then. They look exactly like the ones in the picture. I was just worried some racer did in for more "air flow"
Thanks for the help |
