Possible 88 NY SSP Mustang?
Long time Foxbody fan & Owner of many. My 21 year old son somehow slides his way into a 88 Notchback the other day & I believe it may be one of New Yorks Finest. I ran a $6 vin check on it & there is no registration info before 2005. No buck tags..
Vin# 1FABP40E3JF258847. Has one key for doors & ignition & certified/calibrated 140mph speedo. Any help determining if it is or isnt a ssp would be great. Thank you! Sunroof appears to be aftermarket. |

Is the door tag legible?
JF258847 is in a known group of NYSP SSPs... 1FABP40E9JF258836 - New York State Police, Thruway #7001 1FABP40E0JF258837 1FABP40E2JF258838 1FABP40E4JF258839 1FABP40E0JF258840 1FABP40E2JF258841 - New York State Police, Thruway #7004 1FABP40E4JF258842 - New York State Police 1FABP40E6JF258843 - New York State Police 1FABP40E8JF258844 1FABP40EXJF258845 1FABP40E1JF258846 1FABP40E3JF258847 <<<<<<<< 1FABP40E5JF258848 1FABP40E7JF258849 1FABP40E3JF258850 - New York State Police, Thruway #7003 1FABP40E5JF258851 - New York State Police 1FABP40E7JF258852 - New York State Police 1FABP40E9JF258853 1FABP40E0JF258854 1FABP40E2JF258855 1FABP40E4JF258856 1FABP40E6JF258857 1FABP40E8JF258858 - New York State Police 1FABP40EXJF258859 1FABP40E6JF258860 1FABP40E8JF258861 1FABP40EXJF258862 1FABP40E1JF258863 1FABP40E3JF258864 1FABP40E5JF258865 1FABP40E7JF258866 1FABP40E9JF258867 1FABP40E0JF258868 1FABP40E2JF258869 1FABP40E9JF258870 1FABP40E0JF258871 - New York State Police, Thruway #7002 1FABP40E2JF258872 1FABP40E4JF258873 1FABP40E6JF258874 1FABP40E8JF258875 1FABP40EXJF258876 ------------41----------- |

No door tag anymore, Really stinks. As you can see by pics its been altered by what looks like kids. They put Explorer Intake, What sounds to be a E or B cam, Aluminum Radiator & electric fan & Pillar Gauges. I am pretty sure it is a NY SSP car. From what ive read they buy them in order. They bought 40 in 88 & it falls in between 2 confirmed cars.

Because it falls in between confirmed ssp cars does it mean that it was a ssp car for sure?

Being between known NYSP SSPs with the same DSO (13-0490) is a good indication that it is a NYSP SSP and has the same DSO.
