The base is Antenna Specialists ASP-3, the spring ASP-570, and the whip itself is a 96 inch one. Mike C. could confirm the last part. I need to add those to the Resto doc.
It's actually not a CB antenna. Here's a place that has the bases....you may be able to google the model numbers and find one that's cheaper, though. Good luck. http://www.hol4g.com/ac/search.aspx?...e=1&PerPage=20

Here's the whip, model 121. Not sure about the vendor's website, though.
http://cell-phone-accessories-wholes...D&ProdID=17432 That would be for a CB radio, if you wanted to go that route. The VHF length would be 66.85 (thanks Bud, W4ata, for the info).

468 divided by frequency in Megahertz divided by two= antenna length.
CB HALF Wave whip Antenna 468 divided by 27.5 divided by two= 102.10908 inches CHP Low band HALF Wave whip Antenna 468 divided by 43. divided by two= 65.30232 inches. Find...................... (hard to find these days) a stainless steel CB half wave whip antenna 102 Inches and cut it to 65 inches. like Mike said the Spring and ball mount is Unique and a Commercial Grade Antenna specialist product. |

Whip is ASP-121. AS spec sheets for the whip antenna parts are here:
http://public.fotki.com/Classicchp/s...ang_technical/ Maxrad bought out Antenna Specialists. Much of the AS line is still carried by them, check here: http://www.maxrad.com/index.cgi |

We could factor in the Coax loss and cut the Antenna to the actual frequency. (to be exact) and correct.
OR just indicate by a formula that the Higher the Frequency the shorter the Antenna. I have seen 102 in.CB Whip Antennas used and it looks so wrong with a Huge bow at the end. some people will always be able to buy or find off the shelf what they want and or need. I like to Make and build. But as you said for a static display you don't have to be exact _ . _ |
