For some reason I can relate....watched the movie CHRISTINE last night on the movie channel. Haven't seen it in a long time.
I remember seeing an old junker car as a 14/15 yr old and thinking how good it would be after I fixed her up. I can relate to Arnie Cunningham (character in the movie). That first car you get as a teen. One of the best feelings in the world! Having that enthusiasm for something in such condition! The first car I ever eyed as my first ride was a 1977 Trans-Am. It was sitting in the car port of a house around the corner from where I lived in 1984. It had a thick coat of dust on it. It was black with multiple dents & scratches, two flat tires and a cracked windshield. The house was vacant. The owners lived out of state. I left notes on the car asking a price. No one ever called me and one day about 9 months later it was just "gone". But I knew in my heart I could make a difference with that old car and have the coolest car in school by the time I got my license. The next year I began eyeballing brand new Mustang GT's!
