The factory exterior door handles are plastic and eventually they will fail. My passenger side handle failed on my unrestored 89 SSP last Friday and after doing some internet research I found a set of black painted steel replacement handles for $39.00 including shipping. I removed the old and installed the new one this afternoon. It works well and looks great! Here is the company website:
