That should be a pretty easy fix. Replace the cover, or just remove it and repair it (your call). You might want to replace the heater core while you're in there, but be sure to replace the butyl-type gasket in there, too. If not, you'll end up replacing the core again soon. I've never done it on a 4-eyed car, but I had that problem when I did my '93 coupe.
