That is good....I did the same on my '93 coupe when the heater core went out in '96 (just out of warranty). I
carefully removed the entire dash when I needed to swap out cores....then I figured out that the A/C needed to be discharged, and I drove it like that to the dealer. The service writer almost fell out when she saw the car minus the dash.
I learned (via the tech that helped me finish) how they "drop" the dash down...I'm still not doing that job myself anymore, though, unless the car is already apart.
