Default Not a Mustang, but related, an 84 LTD package car.

I went and took a look at this, over the weekend, since it is in the area. It is kind of a nifty car, 50k miles and never in service. Burgundy with a burgundy interior. Interior is nice with a little sun fading to the front upholstery, nothing that I'd worry about. Dash, carpet, and the rest of the interior look damn near new. The owner did install a DIN sized am-fm cassette radio, it looks nice, but to get the original look back a factory radio would have to be found. The ac was converted to 134 and is cold. It has cruise and a rear window defroster. Has the original 14" wheels and center caps, the tires look good, and the full size spare looks like it never left its mount. There are some small dings and scratches. I didn't see any smoke when the car was started or while it was running.

Now the bad news.
The bottom door seams have rust and are peeling. It might be repairable, but I'd try and get some rust free doors. There are some rust spots on the sills, one of the fenders, and I think one of the dog legs. The bottom of the car looks fairly typical for something that has spent its whole life in the Chicago area, winters and all, maybe even better than its age should show. Some surface rust on most of the under car components, I only took a quick look, but nothing under the car scared me.

His ad on Craigslist expired, but I thought that he was asking $2200

These are the pictures that he sent me.

I have always had a soft spot in my heart for these cars and I'd like to see this go to a good home. If I didn't already have two project cars...
