George was just a tremendously generous and supportive person for the hobby. I had the pleasure of knowing and seeing him at shows the past 3 years. For the past 2 years he would make a visit to Michigan and spend several days with his daughter and son-in-law, who live in state. He would drive one of his SSPs here and he and his son-in-law (also named Mike) would meet up with me at the Woodward Dream Cruise Ferndale, MI Emergency Vehicle Show. Both of them...just such genuinely nice people...I've sent them a card and hope others in the hobby have an opportunity to let his family know what he meant to us.
