You can lock the speed in, you just aren't supposed to, and you aren't required to, as in some other states.

FL DHSMV puts out a list of "approved" radar units and the Trooper, KR-10, KR-10SP, MPH K-55 and F models were all on there.

I haven't personally seen an F model in use, but it looks like it'll work. (unless you want one that lights up)
