WTB: SSP
 

Howdy everyone. New member here. Big thanks to Jim Y. and Wilcox H. for getting me registered. My name is Jim and I’m from western Washington state where I am a police officer.

I’m not a current SSP owner but I do have some history. My dad and I bought a very nice ‘85 from the CHP’s (then) Motor Transport Section in Torrance. We drove that car all over and back and it was fun and trouble free.

I’ve recently transitioned from about 30 years of my life in the Toyota 4x4 world into another realm. As if home ownership and taking care of a hilly 1/2 acre isn’t enough, I want to delve into cars again. I spent 17 years as an automotive technician before law enforcement and now that I don’t depend on a paycheck to fix cars, I think it will be a great pastime. Recently a friend took a dive into the Fox Mustang world. That peaked my interest as well and that rekindled memories of the old CHP car.

I’m not looking for a fully restored car. I’d prefer something complete. Running or not running is fine. But I’d like a car with an engine and trans. Manual or auto trans, from ‘83-‘93 (only because I’m sure there’s no ‘82’s surviving that aren’t already spoken for). As a supervisor, who drives an unmarked patrol car, it would be icing on the cake if I could find a similar SSP. Extra points for a former WSP or OSP car.
