eLightbars.org
For those that use that particular website to find vintage emergency equipment for our Mustangs, the new address is http://www.lightbarn.com/
The ELB.ORG address is working again today for some reason, but I figured I'd post the new link in case anyone needed it. |
Hello - Here's a cut & paste of an email I rec'd a couple days ago...I can't speak to any of the details, but just thought it may answer to some degree Mike's question above re: the old address versus the new address.
============================================== Dear eLightbars Forum Members, Please accept our apologies for the mass e-mail but it is necessary given recent developments within the community. One of the site's former administrators has undermined our community by commandeering the eLightbars.org domain name. His decision to do so was unilateral and beyond our control, leaving us with little choice but to move the site to a new domain name. The eLightbars forum is now PERMANENTLY located at http://www.lightbarn.com. It remains hosted and supported by the many of the same staff (Pat, Blake) that designed and co-founded the original community some 12 years ago. Lightbarn.com is now the only valid URL for the site and we will begin changing all references from "elightbars" to "lightbarn" in the coming days. Please bear with us during this time of transition and rest assured that all of your previous posts have migrated over to the new site. Our permanent record of your posting history is one of the only ways to tell that you are on the correct site until the Lightbarn.com domain name gains more recognition. Undoubtedly more conversation surrounding this topic will surface in the forums. We ask that forum members be respectful of all parties involved and look to the future as we continue on with the Internet's largest lightbarn, siren, and emergency equipment forum--now known as Lightbarn.com. Warm regards, Your Lightbarn.com Staff (admin@lightbarn.com) 11 February 2009 |
I got the same email...just didn't feel like commenting on the why or how. :)
I've met some good people on that site (such as FordDealer), but there are also alot of whacker/wannabe types on there to look out for. |
