fuel gauge help

Having some gauge issues. Gauge reads correct for the first 2 seconds after turning key on then falls to low. Checked sender and ohm reading is correct. Replaced slosh module and gauge but still broke. Any ideas?

Voltage regulator in the insterment pannel caused this problem on my 92.

Is there a voltage regulator on our cars? I can't seem to find it. I was trying to check the voltage input and fried the printed circuit....one of those days

If I remember right there on the 90 to 93. The voltage regulator plugs in on the back of the insterment cluster top left side when looking at the back. Also you can use a print circuit off of a 4 cycl car but you have to put a jumper wire in place of the diado at the oil pressure gage circuit.

John thanks for the input. Those slosh regulators are kinda hard to find in good working order. I went through 4 before finding a good one. But is working now! .

Your welcome. I got lucky and the first one I found worked. You can also buy them new from? I can't remember if it is 5.0resto, CJ Pony Parts or Mustang Unlimited.
