Stroll through the bone yard!
I've been away on business for several weeks and just hit my favorite bone yard, the local "pick your part" and it must be my lucky day. I was walking through the Ford section when I looked in the engine compartment of a 91 notch and I saw what turned out to be an oil cooler. There is a bit of rust on the intake and discharge but looks to be a good solid unit. I looked the door jam over but there were no DSO numbers so I took the booty and ran- no pun.
Were the liquid to oil coolers dso/ special service specific? There is a bit of rust on the intake and discharge but looks to be a good solid unit. I did find a ford part #: DT6B856AA http://s189.photobucket.com/albums/z...oilcoooler.jpg http://s189.photobucket.com/albums/z...oilcoooler.jpg RSH |
Good find. They weren't specific, but I'd guess that one was added to the '91 by the previous owner.

Now if I could only come across some oil cooler hoses..................

That oil cooler was also available on the SVO and over the counter at Ford so it could have come from a myriad of places. Good score!
Werent those hoses just bulk hose? If there is an actual part number on them get it to Fox Mustang restoration and he can hunt one down for you. |
