Engine Transport

What is the best way to transport a complete engine? It will be traveling from Houston to Baton Rouge ( 4 1/2 hours ) in the back of my truck, but what is the best support for it: engine stand or pallet or ??? I finally found an '85 date coded engine with most of the hard to find '85 specific items still attached. :) Now, all I need is a transmission before the rebuild begins.

I had one on a pallet and didn't have any problems. Just strap it down.

Just guessing but I would think the engine stand would let the engine bounce up down quite a bit I would lay it in and stap it good. Good luck.

Set it on an old tire and snug it up with a few more and then strap it in.
