New to the SSP scene.

I just bought a 1993 FHP mustang that had a lot of stuff took off to drag race. A/C, power steering ect. I have the motor out right now to rebuild because it has over 200,000 miles. It has a GT 40 intake and heads, I would like to go back stock but because of founds I will probably go back with the same stuff. It still has the same paint that it had in service and the holes for lights. I have people telling me that I should paint it. I just don't want to do anything to hurt the cars value. I have also been told to remove the buck tags so they don't get lost. Any info that can help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Stephen.

Welcome to the site! It sounds like you are on the right track with the car to me. I'd agree to definitely not do any repainting, you'd be amazed how good the factory paint on these cars can be brought back with a little tlc. As for removing the buck tag, don't do it!!!! They were stapled on for the later years like 93, and trust me, they ain't going anywhere.

How bout posting up some pics of er?

Had an idea as far as the intake goes: one option would be to replace the upper with an Explorer cast aluminum one (assuming you have the tubular GT-40 one now). You can use the stock 5.0 HO intake plaque on it and it would almost look stock. The bonus there (speaking of funds) is that those tubular GT-40 uppers go for a fortune on Ebay. Another option would be to find a stock upper and lower and just sell the GT-40 complete. As far as the heads go, you could look for a set of E7's with low miles and go back totally stock, but of course if you have the original cast iron GT40 heads that take stock headers, no one would ever know they weren't stock by looking at them.
