1993 CHP Mustang

Everybody can relax I found the car, needs some suspension work, shocks, brakes, brake pads, lining, steering box, transmission, rear-end, maybe a little wiring lol. I picked her up yesterday and had her towed home. She runs, but the exhaust was cut, so I didn't want to get jammed for the excessive loudness. It really loud. The outside is ok, nothing major. The driver's door isn't the original. It struck a few years ago by a forklift. The inside is rough. So the first thing on my list is to get the exhaust welded and the interior started on. It needs a headliner, the new center console, carpet, upholstery, well pretty much everything. The dash doesn't light up, so lots of work will definitely go into the interior first. As I do that, I will also look for CHP equipment at the same time. I'll post pictures in a few hours so everyone can see the car. I would appreciated and help or guidance on good used or NOS parts or CHP equipment. Here is a pic in the meantime.

Looks good. Late model restoration and national parts depot will be helpful for much of what you need, restoration-wise.
Good used parts are tougher to find but definitely out there. The Foxbody pages on Facebook are where most of the discussion on those parts seems to be.

Congratulations on your acquisition.

Thank you, I went ahead and started to order parts from LMR and as well from Ebay. I already stripped out the interior and started working on the engine bay. The goal is to take the engine out this summer and have it machined and all that good stuff. I've noticed their isn't a oil cooler and the smog pump was deleted. My guess is it was suppose to have both, but I'm not 100%. Would anyone have a clue if CHP deleted these or had them? I've gotten a few goodies like the streetsweeper and two GE RAngers. I also ordered a 4000R bulb, it's not wagner, but it should do the trick. The interior is crap, so, I'll definitely need a replacement and their is rust on the passenger floorboard. There is a patch panel on the driver's side of the trunk. Which is right around where the ball antenna was. More to come throughout now and until the summer. Still need spotlamps and the other gizmos and gadgets.

The spare tire cover board, is not the one used on SSP's with the full size spare!

Looks you’re already having fun with it.

I've been having a blast so far. Ask me that in a few months lol. The last owner placed the tire board cover in the vehicle. If I remember correctly the right one for the SSP was circular.

I purchased the oil cooler from PPI and I also got the blue hoses from them as well. They weren't cheap. I found a company that still sells the red Wagner 4000R and ended up buying one. I also purchased the solid red front deck light. Now I just need the Unity spotlights and I'll be covered with all of my lighting. I spoke to a rep at Unity and they do not produce the 225K series anymore. They do however make the 225V-H which is apparently the closet one. I'll still have to paint the housing, If I go that route. I would rather get the 225K but those seem far and few. More to come.

The chase for the history, parts and equipment is a big part of the fun and journey. Typically filled with highs and lows, but rewarding in totality.

You're so very right. Last week was a good week for parts finding. I was able to get GE Ranger 050, GE Master II, CHP Federal Signal PA500, CHP Antenna Specialists ball and spring, and a CHP Antenna specialists roof antenna. The communication trays aren't CHP, but they are close enough. I still need the small Antenna Specialists box that was part of the trunk tray. I still need the Federal Signal lightbar box and first aid kit. On a side note I might have an opportunity to score genuine CHP spotlights. We'll see what happens. Its definitely been a good hunt for these items. I'm in the process of removing the dash and have taken the rear lights out. This summer the motor, transmission, and drivetrain will be coming out. I ordered a Marti Report. Once it comes in I'll post it. Any leads on CHP equipment would be greatly appreciated.
