A SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!

Gentlemen,

my ssp is offically running and driveable!!!!!!!

just few little issues such as IAC, trans leaking some, brake rotors very warped will be replaced asap when budget is stable as i just moved into a new house for rent.

It sounded so good when its being driven. The transmission shifts weird, when i accelerate, it wouldn't shift until 1800 to 2k rpm and would keep rising until i let go of accelerator pedal it would shift, but sometimes when i let it go, it stays stuck until i press gas pedal, it finally shifts. it does that all the way from 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and OD.

I've not gone over 70 mph due to bad age cracked tires on back, as they are fat tires at 255's, i figured i am about 5 to 10 mph off and i believe i have 2.73 gears because i was going 55 mph my rpm was a tad bit over 1500 rpm, am i correct? i used my Garmin GPS, it helps a lot to avoid a speeding ticket.

That's great, MJ! You're making steady progress on your SSP. And I've used our Garmin to 'correct' for a speedometer that's off (it's also much safer than yelling out the car window at a friend's car your pacing)

sounds good MJ. Make sure it is safe (brakes/tires) etc. before you drive it much. Glad to see you're making progress.

MJ the shifting issue sounds like it could be the notorious broken plastic bushing on the shift cable under the throttle plate housing. If that bushing is gone the trans will go bad within just a few miles of driving. Take a look and see what shape the bushing is in.

Jim, is that a lesson learned from a certain SCHP car?:D

Jim,

yes its already on my list for brakes and tires as my 10 holes painted black rims is on the way, thanks goes to Stubes!

As of trans, all cables are fine so it do make loud thumping sound when it shifts like its hard to shift as i do pedal thingy trick...

MJ, sounds like the transmission is just worn out and ready for a rebuild. I wish I had a better projection. I'm really glad that you got it running though, that is a big step. Good luck with it.

yep its leaking a lot of trans fluids, its going to be ditched for a rebuild. thanks! people has been enjoying hear it run since i got it. that is a awesome feeling! Been out of an 5.0 since 2006.. way too long, my old 08 mustang gt, doesn't compare to an old 5.0 by how it sounds and such.
