1989 - VIN 1FABP40E2KF103384

This one has been listed f/s before and the seller always wants top dollar.

I remember going to car shows in the 1980s and a vehicle like this would be called what it is - a fake _________ (fill in the blank). Somewhere along the line of reality TV shows based on car shops and the growth of high dollar auctions like BJ and Mecum, it became socially acceptable to brand these cars as legitimate "tribute" vehicles or clones. This one appears to be a nice car (minus the clown goodies), but it is still a fake to me...

So, is.....

Is the VIN not on the registry??
Jerry

Jerry, this car is not listed because its VIN was not part of any grouping of 3 or more VINs. We did not include an all-encompassing list of single or two-car batches of VINs because there would have been far too many shown. In those instances where we have listed a single or two-car group of VINs, that is because a car turned up with that number and had sufficient documentation to add it to the Project.

the car is worth more with the correct wheels and minus all the circus accoutrement.

Clown car continued,

I am wondering if is in fact a REAL SSP. There are listings EVERYWHERE for this car. Lots of Salesman talk but never actually states that it was a SSP, does not mention Buck Tags, etc.Maybe it's a flipper and doesn't know about Buck Tags. Sales people are unaware of nuisances (sp?) of any car- they just what to sell it then vacation on an Island somewhere. It may be a real SSP from some other Agency and was restored to look like their favorite Agency. I don't know, just wondering about the whole deal. I did notice that I can't see the relocated trunk button in the photos.
I guess it really doesn't matter because I hope to never buy an East Coast car again.

Clown Car

For what it's worth, it doesn't have single key locks.

Clown Car

Great catch Mr. Phillips. Can't believe I missed that.

NoDrama43 02-26-2017 12:04 PM

if the seller would post a picture of the door tag it would confirm the car is not an ssp.
