Your chance to own a very, very rare OSP '91 b4c Camaro.

(Not mine(I wish), it is on eBay) This info is what I am saying, it is not in the description.
This is a very rare Oregon State Police (what it appears to be- switches on console and the roll bar). The car is 1 of 4 ordered in 91, 91 is also the first year of the Police Package on a Camaro.
This car is rarer than some of our SSP's. A little over 100 total b4c's were built in '91.
I hope this car doesnt go to someone who is going to hot rod it. It deserves the same attention we give our SSPs.

Wow - must have been a DARE car with the black painted accents and part of the red lettering on the lower part of the door visible.

And...it's being sold through the regular OSP channel - would be the first public owner.

That IS a RARE find!

I was curious about that...noticed the red on there too. And I agree it would be great to see this one get the right type of attention.

Sam:
Your dad went went to the surplus yard WAAAAAY back in the 90's looking at a 91 or 92 camaro for me.
He said looked good so I decided to buy it.
Turned out,Ii bought it and then a guy supposifly a trusted friend, from Billings MT. (no Name mentioned) picked it up and I got screwed out of the car!!
Not a nice story as I sent the check to OR. , had title in MY NAME but he, the shister, trusted friend was supposed to bring it to KCMO for me, as he had business there.
Car ended up in bankruptcy court and I lost it never seeing it once.
I really don't know about the black on the bottom as have never seen a B4C in that year with it.
Your dad went out of his way to help me and I will NEVER forget him for his kindness in this car dealing.
AS I STATED BEFORE, CHRIS IS ONE SWELL FELLOW!!!! and a credit to the PC collecting game.
Follow in his footsteps, and some day someone will say the same about you.
Tell dad to e mail me sometime!!!

Sam, Thanks for posting (Rino Also) Bid is in lets see what happens....... Rich

Mustang Kid 10-10-2011 11:40 PM

It would be in good hands if you got it Rich:)
Brian could list the black GT on FEP (since he is registered). That would be a good way to try to sell it along your craigslist add.

My 1985 GT is REALLY a nice original car! If I find the RIGHT person $3,000 Cash will get this really nice car! Otherwise $4000,00 on craigslist it will go.:No no:

Mustang Kid 10-11-2011 12:53 AM

Hope it goes to a good home Rich:)
If I had the money I would buy it (from the couple pics I've seen of it, it os a very cool car), but I have 8337 to deal with and fix up right now. Lol

John10608 10-11-2011 03:11 AM

eBay has removed this auction listing, I wonder why
John

Mustang Kid 10-11-2011 10:00 AM

That IS a RARE find!

When OSP was done with the cars, other state agencies had the chance to get one to use as a dare car (so most became dare cars). The blue spotlight could have been from when it was a dare car. When the agency was done with the car, they would give it back to the state.
The black on the car was added. Should be all white with non painted wheels.
When inservice they looked just like the OSP SSPs (lightbar, decals).

You dont see those Camaros anymore. I put in a low bid not haveing any idea of the cars true condition. I dont think my bid is high enough to buy this car. If I do end up with it I will have a lot of room to restore her. We will see..................

Mustang Kid 10-12-2011 12:21 AM

Read a post on thirdgen.org about 91 production numbers and they said 592 b4c's were produced. I didn't know there were that many ???

Rhino 10-12-2011 01:02 AM

Rich - I'd love to bring it home myself, but have too many other projects. Who knows, if you end up with it...I may be inetersted in taking it off your hands down the line. :)

My guess is that it's going to sell for $3000-3500. Just a guess. Luckily, I think the blown heater core and puddle of antifreeze may help in keeping the bid low.

Ryan, Do you think this car was a Oregon Highway patrol unit or a city agency. The title says It was from Sherwood ORE?

hk500 10-12-2011 01:30 AM

Sherwood Has a police department it may have come from there.
How would the state have got there hands on it?

Mustang Kid 10-13-2011 12:58 AM

Over 200 people saw this thread before the auction ended, so 200+ people saw how rare it is. One of them could have bought it. Maybe it will surface on ORG (unfortunately I was banned right away:No no: but I don't care).

But the good thing is Rich, you help out Oregon by bidding the price up:D

Knowing the details, I'd like to politely ask that you take that discussion to PM's or via the telephone. Thanks guys! ;)

GSPI 10-13-2011 10:46 AM

I can honestly say that I did not get this car as I did not bid... so it wasn't me!:D
