Tach fuse keeps blowing
 
1989 Mustang #18 position fuse keeps blowing. Fuse is for tach instrument gauges ac clutch seat belt chimes etc.

I've unplugged the ac compressor seat belt etc still blows fuse as soon as switch is turned on. Only thing I've not unplugged it instrument cluster.

Any ides ?

Pulled cluster
Still pops fuse as soon as switch is turned on...

Sounds like someone is fixing to chase wires

Problem fixed...
Glove box light fell apart and the contact was grounding out against the metal frame of the dash blowing the fuse. I spent several hours tracking this one down:rolleyes:

Only wish I'd found it before I tore my whole car apart :rolleyes:

Took out;
seat (checking to be sure my seat belt wire didn't get pinched somehow)
cluster (you know what all is involved in that)
both relays under dash
buzzer
A/C harness (connects to compressor)
Coil cover
unhooked wires from solenoid ( to examine harness for shorts or bare wires)

After all that turned up nota I opened the glove box and walla...
