FHP lestek alt wiring question

i have a question regarding the FHP cars equipped with lestek alternators.
A PO of my 91 FHP majorly butchered the car and stuck another engine in the car, stole the lestek etc.

the car now has a 3G alt in it which is crudely spliced into the factory alt harness. its a hazard how it is now and the alt isn't working.

my question is regarding the lestek equipped cars headlight/alt harness. is it a special harness than what came on oem 5.0 cars?

i have access to a regular 5.0 harness/alternator and was going to stick that on for the time being until i have the funds to get a correct lestek alt.

It's different. The Lestek alts were externally regulated, and the OEM ones internal (since about '86 or so). I think the terminals are different, also. PPI has a pic of a "repair" harness they sell, but it sounds like you'll need more than that in your case.

thank you for taking the time to reply!
i have enough there including the ext regulaor still mounted that i could have that all repaired.
there is a small plug with two wires going into it still there as well not connected to anything.

this is the cluster f i have on my hands now. looks like only the volt reg wiring has been hacked, and i have enough there to rebuild.

does the lestek mount on the oem 5.0 alt bracket?

Ok...looks like you aren't too bad off. :)

The two wire plug is more than likely the plug for the Lestek. The pic below is of the one I mentioned that PPI sells.

I can't help you on the bracket question...I have a Lestek, but haven't ever owned a Lestek-equipped car. I would think it's be a different bracket, though.
