AZ help

Hello all!

I am now the proud owner (since mid march) of 1990 AZHP 148275 (VIN last six). Currently it is at the body shop with an almost complete repair from a minor rear end collision to it, 2 owners ago. From there it will go home, engine pulled and rebuilt, and remainder of car will be stripped for just short of a rotisserie restoration. Ok, why I'm here. I have pretty much no documentation on this vehicle. Marti, complete and confirmed AZ DPS. I'm starting to find some pics, etc., both of restored and operational units. Does anyone have a contact with AZHP where I might find "any" documentation? Assignment, anything? I want it correct, as we all do. I'm including pictures upon my acceptance of the vehicle, body shop pics to follow. Thanks!

Welcome, Dave! I have an AZ SSP as well. I tried several times and venues to find info but was unsuccessful. AZMVD does not keep records back that far in the database. I was told I needed to go to the main office on Jefferson St. where old records were archived. Unfortunately I needed a case number, a warrant or working an investigation for them to dig it up. Another harder way is to buy some old officers coffee or beer to get some tidbits of info.
Best of luck with the puzzle!

Well that's kind of disappointing! I have a buddy that works in the Apache-Sitgreaves NF (LEO) who is going to try with a couple of AZ DPS officer buddies. I'll let you know what I might find. Hope to have it "home" next week where I will commence engine removal and so on. Thanks!

Some body shop pics. The car was reportedly rear ended by an F150 Ford (must have not been real fast). After minor work on the frame rack it’s perfect. Had to do a little fill to level it out. C & H Carstar of Fairborn, Ohio did this initial body work (fantastic body shop, family owned for 57 years now, currently Ed Collins owner). They have done fabulous work! I will take it “home” sometime next week, start the engine and transmission removal/rebuilds, start to pull the interior for re-upholstery and clean/paint the underside (where needed). Happy so far with project! Anyone else in the Ohio area know of 5.0 rebuilder? I have a lead on an awesome engine rebuilder. in Cincy? I’m always looking for the local shop to patronize!
