FHP requesting a crash report

For all the Florida Highway Patrol owners if you want to request a crash report here is the info right from their site

How to get a copy of a crash report?

Crash reports may be obtained from the local Florida Highway Patrol Station that is closest to where the crash occurred. Crash reports are kept in the local districts for 2 years from the date of crash. Homicide reports are kept in the local districts for 5 years from the date of crash.

To order a crash report ($2.00) older than 2 years, call (850) 617-3416.
To order a traffic homicide report ($25.00) older than 5 years, call (850) 617-2306.

To order traffic homicide photographs, call (850) 617-3409.
Photographs are $1.00 for 5"x7" or $1.50 for 8"x10".

NOTE: When requesting photographs, have at least two of the following pieces of information available when you place your request:

Date of Crash
County of Crash
Name of Fatality Victim
Traffic Homicide Case Number

Whenever a police vehicle is involved in a crash they must take photographs. Run a car fax on your car and if it was involved in a crash there will usually be a case number right on the carfax. Call the number above for the crash reports older than 2 years and they will tell you how many photographs are available of your accident (mine had 26!) this is a great way to document the original features of your car when it was in service. The people on the phone will tell you where to send the money. They charge you for the report and for each photo. Good luck! and maybe we can make this post a sticky?

Made it a sticky but moved it to Agency Specific since it can work with '82-'86 FHP's too.

Got mine on the way. Will post photos when I get them. They were (are) as stated a dollar/5x7. 1.50/ 8x11 and $10.00 will get you the shots put on a disc which is what I opted for.

Mine are on the way, no pics. anyway, I can not remember if she said they go back 41 years or back to 1941, but as of Friday they will only be availible back 7 years, she was nice enough to go ahead and pull mine and put my name on it, till my check gets there.

I would give them a call anyway. The photo lab is separate from where you get the report.

Does this mean older accident reports are no longer available? I have a case number on my 88 but the accident was in 92, #16448839. Will I still be able to acquire the report and photos if I call on Monday? I know this is an old post but it is stickied so I am alittle confused.

call and see if the report is available. also call and see if the pics are available. I bete you can still get the pictures.
