What do you think, Bob?

Too short. Mike Patterson did a lot of research on these (with a member of the Minnesota Highway Patrol) and they both agreed that what Mike ended up having installed was closest to the original. Thanks for the research though,
Bob

LEDs cannot possibly be closest to the originals, FWIW. Totally different levels of light output and technology that wasn't invented yet.

Personally, I'd go with the halogens that Greg posted; even if the size is a little off. No one would really ever know the difference. Everyone, however, will immediately know that the LEDs are incorrect.

My .02.

Code 3 makes a triple hologen light similar to that. There's (2) on ebay HERE.

They have amber lenses, but you can find different lenses on elightbars.org. You could probably find that light there as well.

So the halogen light has to be 1-15/16" H x 15-3/4" W x 1-15/16" D in size?

Seems large width wise to me for halogen but I guess if that's what you guys measured that's what it is then.

Hold up the train. What about this?

This looks similar to what I see in the photo.

I like that. What's the link to the actual product?

This is a Sound Off item too:

I like them.

I have (2) of the Sound Off 28 halogens for my rear deck and a single Sound Off 24 strobe to mount up next to the review mirror on mine.

I just did an Adobe CS4 Measurement analysis of the photo and the light over the rearview mirror is not 15 inches in size but closer to 8 inches. What other references did you have as I'm curious.

I just used my peepers and my keen sense of observation! :)

That is some cool stuff right there, though.
