Hi everyone I have a special request, I sold this 89 Georgia SSP in 2010 to a fellow I came on hard times and lost my job, but I have recently recovered and I am trying to track this car back down to maybe purchase it back. I miss it dearly and it pained me to sell it. I will post pictures and see if maybe someone can help me track it down or one like it that I can purchase to restore. It was an 89 Georgia state patrol I'm unsure as to vin number now or unit number but maybe the pictures will help. If anyone can help me my email is seth21w@yahoo.com or by phone 706-601-2251 my name is seth I am trying to post pictures now, if this post needs to go to a new section mods please direct me! Thanks and god bless.

Tryed carfax yet?

seths89gsp 11-11-2014 12:26 AM

I don't have the vin number wish I did.

Notch50 11-11-2014 01:33 AM

Do you still have the same insurance carrier? They normally keep records of the cars you have had through them for several years, could call them and ask or look it up on their website if you have set up online account with them. May help out and get you the vin number to try and track the car down.

The DMV could be another place to check, if you have an online account they may still show the car listed under your personal info, I was surprised when I renewed tags on one of my cars and There was a car I had about 5 years ago was still showing in my records. Could be because the car went to another state.

Just a few things may be worth trying.

Given the timeline above (sold in 2010), try these two VINs:

1FABP40E5KF135908 (insurance terminated 11/26/2010)
1FABP40E8KF284829 (insurance terminated 9/17/2010)

28HopUp 11-11-2014 09:55 AM

KF135908 was painted 9L and first owned by the State of Georgia, as opposed to the GSP. I'm hoping Bobby will recognize the car in this thread...

FoxChassis 11-11-2014 10:41 AM

Yeah I went through the GA DOR insurance info first, before I checked to see if they were in the VIN Project. Only after I looked in the VIN Project did I realize KF135908 was a state of GA car and not GSP. :o

seths89gsp 11-11-2014 11:31 AM

Thanks everyone for the help maybe a clue 90coupe posted the ad of the car for sale in Pensacola http://www.specialservicemustang.net...hlight=georgia

Bill & Seth,
Unless it has gone through some changes (as they tend to do). I do not recognize this 89 GSP (with the small cowl hood and five lug bullitts). Good looking car by the way...

I think the vin 1FABP40E8KF284829 may be the one does anyone here have a way to run car faxs?

Notch50 11-26-2014 10:51 AM

I'll run one for you, I have one usage still that's about to expire. Can you pm me your email and I will see if I can send the report to you.

Notch50 11-26-2014 11:08 AM

The last recorded entry on carfax was in 2011 looks like the owner moved and updated registration or renewed it.

Here is the last office that recorded the info and the current title number

Florida
Motor Vehicle Dept.
Pensacola, FL
Title #0105168858

This car does have a salvage title, it was issues in 2003. Strange that it doesn't show an accident right before it was issued. It did have an accident in 96 and 99.

I may have to send screen shots of the report, I tried to email to myself but it requires login information to view.

FoxChassis 11-26-2014 11:35 AM

Save the .html of the report. Then you can email the hmtl file.

Alt + F (File) + A (Save As)

(Save as "Web Page, HTML only". Do not save as "Web Page, complete".)

seths89gsp 11-26-2014 12:25 PM

Carfax reported that it was a salvage title but it actually wasn't when I purchased it the title was clean clear. And when it was sold and registered in Florida it was clean it appears.

seths89gsp 11-26-2014 12:30 PM

The 2 wrecks in service couldn't have been severe because I checked the body and subframe core support everything it was straight.

Notch50 11-26-2014 02:34 PM

I don't think that in service accidents were what branded the title, both of those said minor or slight damage. Something happened in 03/04 which branded the title.

That car couldn't be titled in some states unless it were to be inspected and given the ok by the state police, and then they would issue a rebuilt title.

seths89gsp 11-26-2014 02:53 PM

I really hope it hasn't been wrecked. I wonder why it hasn't been registered in 2 years?!

Notch50 11-26-2014 03:17 PM

I wouldn't think wrecked, insurance or police report should list it on carfax report if it was, but if it was wrecked at a track or not reported then it's possible it would show on the carfax report. If it was scrapped or went to a junk yard they should have titled it as junk.

There's always the chance maybe they got married and had kids and it's just sitting in a garage somewhere, or the engine or trans died and it's sitting in a yard.

seths89gsp 06-14-2016 10:15 PM

Ok im just checking back to see if anyone has found my gsp i still want it can anyone rerun the vin number for me to see if its been registered since 2014. Ugh i miss that car...
