Correct buckets, but wrong color and brackets.
I might have a CHP Whip ball and spring, but no antenna |
Sam are the whips hard to find? PM me if you want to sell your ball and spring.

CHP whip antennas have a small " ball " at the tip of the antenna, not a elongated type tip. It's a round ball approx. 1/4" in diameter.
In the SSP tech. info section, it has the part code # and manufacture of the whip antennas. A copy of the specs of the antennas. If that helps any. I found the spring at a truck parts house, but not the mounting ball. |
Thais John for the info. I'll keep searching.

The 102 in. whip is cut to Citizen Band Radio 27 mhz (CB)
You need to cut the Antenna to 65 in. for correct 43 mhz appearance. this is how it goes. for CB 468 divided by 27 mhz equals 17.3 divided by 2 (half wave whip) equals 8.6 then 8.6 times 12 (for 12 inches) equals 103 in. using the CB frequency 26.5 (commonly referred to and rounded off to 27 mhz would give you 102. inches for CHP 468 divided by 43 mhz equal 10.8 divided by 2 (half wave whip) equals 5.4 then 5.4 times 12 (for 12 inches) equals 65 in. If you want to change the frequency to say 42 mhz then just change that in the formula. the picture below is what i used to CAPP the end of the antenna. I understand that there is a Round ball with a set screw available but i have not been able to find one at this time. .-.-.- http://www.imagerocket.net/photos/me...icture_185.jpg |
