1987 SSP believe this to be Texas DPS

I have seen this car listed before and I know the hole in the dash is exactly where Texas cut their hole. Not sure if they ever had tan interior but pretty sure they never ordered specific interior colors.

the hood shows the sound supression straps and the interior being deleted of power options is exactly how DPS ordered them.

Also Texas only ran blue hoses in 87 and this one has what appears to be remains of a blue upper hose. This car appears to have remains of a supercharger too.

"87 coupe, original 5.0, 5 speed. great paint, new tires, no leaks, very stock, runs great. cold a/c, heat works. definately can be daily driven as i do about 3 times a week with absolutely no issues. let me know what you have. not looking for anything specific as long as i like it. don't need a truck, as i already have one, unless is a older lightning or someting souped up. no bikes, never had one, don't want one. lowballers don't waste your time. david 214-325-7828 " BEST OFFER

Looks like an X FHP from the interior. I am very partial to the Tan.

It does look like the FHP int. It doesn't look like a bad buy either, be nice if he listed a asking price. I would be a little nervous if that was the motor that had the supercharger behind it though.

See this is a verified 87 Texas DPS SSP as it was mine and I sold it. The hole and also the cap being in the exact same place. that is why it leads me to believe it is a texas car and not Florida.

Wonder if the tags comes back looking like this?
Also make sure to have him look for the unit tag on the A-pillar in the door jam.

FHP drilled holes there, also. Bernie's '93 FHP has one in a similar position (I just added a pic of his dash to the FHP Resto Doc yesterday).

I haven't seen a TX car with the sand beige interior, but I guess stranger things have happened. I'm going with FHP for this one also. We'll see when Jim posts up the DSO.

ok here is the scoop......car fax shows entire history in Texas.

door tag is DOA as car has been painted. A very nice shadow gray mettalic paint job. Car has 192 k miles (per odo read and car fax), manual doors, locks, (one key), no rear defrost, one spotlight, certified speedo, bonding straps, manual mirrors. owner didn't have a light to look for the buc tags and there is no unit number in the door jam. the vin on the car is within the vin range of the 87 TXDPS cars.

his asking price is 5500.00

I am out..as I don't want another TXDPS car (unless Joe H sells me his for 5K)

Davids email address is DKing@TX.RR.com He has been given the link to this site along with WWW.SSPMustang.org

Matt wins the "Guess this agency" prize.....:2thumbs:
