WTB a restored SSP

Hi all,

I am looking for an SSP that has been restored to in-service specs, or that isn't too far off. I have seen a few on this forum and a few other places on the net but haven't found the right one yet, so I thought that I would try asking if anyone knows of a car that might be for sale. My preference is for an FHP or similar, and 1989 or earlier.

Kind regards,

David

Hi again,

I am still looking for a restored, or near restored, SSP. Thanks to everyone you contacted me after my original post. There were some really nice cars, but I need to find one with a build date of before January 1989. Any and all leads gratefully received!

On the upside, we have booked flights, hotels, and tickets for our trip for the 50th at Charlotte! It looks like there will be a number of Mustang Owners Club of Australia members headings over, for both Charlotte and Las Vegas. I am taking the kids to Disneyland and the wife to Vegas, as well as travelling up the east coast, so if we can't find a car before April, hopefully I will have a chance to meet some of you (and your cars) while were are over there.

Yes be sure to stop by and say hi...I expect we'll have a nice size group of SSPs at Charlotte.

Bump!

I nearly had one, unfortunately the car in question is no longer for sale. So I am back on the hunt. Only 138 days to go until the 50th, and counting.

Happy hunting! :)

What is the deal with needing 1989 or earlier?
Emissions?

Probably has to do with import duty or taxes as 1/89 or earlier is over 25 years.

I don't know about the original poster, but I like the 89 and earlier cars because there is no air bag on the steering wheel.

The reason for having to limit my search to a car that was built before January 1989 is the Australian import regulations. Unfortunately it is fairly much impossible for me to import a late 89 or later SSP, and have any hope of driving it.

So still looking, and counting the days til Charlotte!

21 days until Charlotte, and still looking.......
