Crazy Barrett Jackson sale - where people lose their minds!

Crazy sale of the day...for anyone who didn't see it on Barrett Jackson last night. 1963 Ford Galaxie "Tribute Barnie Fife black and white Police car". Sold for $110,000 (Buyer will have to add 10% commission on top of that amount). :headscratch:

I think the car went across around 8:00pm last night. People lose their minds at these events. Buyer also bought a strangely modified Ford F-150 a little later on in the evening. Unusually varied tastes this Buyer displayed.

The Seller of that Galaxie has to still be shaking with excitement over what they made on that sale...unbelievable!

the sad part of that whole situation is how the cars get priced out of reach of so many people because a few idiots have money to throw away. It would be better if the morons with no sense and lots of money would give their money to charity.

sickening....

I posted on this above having not seen this. I tried to delete my post but was unable. Mike or moderators please remove mine.

I too saw the sale. Couldn't believe it. Just goes to show what can happen when the right fish comes along when you have something for sale. Wish someone would knock on my door and offer me 100K for my car.

I think the fact that they serve a lot of alcohol at these events helps explain the bidding frenzy. ;)

I think you may have hit the nail on the head. A fool and their money are soon parted especially when alcohol is flowing.

Bargain of the day...$100K = New owner of my 2 SSP's. Surely that is a steal versus $100K for one Barney Fife Clone Ford Galaxie. Oh wait, mine doesn't have a Don Knotts autograph. Maybe if I get Don's friend Tim Conway to sign mine it will be worth alot more. I hope he's still alive. Well worst case I'm sure Carroll Shelby will sign mine if I pay him $700 Postage Paid sending Glove Boxes from my 2 SSP's. That definately ought to make my deal a bargain!
