1985 SSP Factory 8.8?
 
I have heard that 8.8 rear end did not get put into mustangs until 1986. But the tag on the rear end of my 1985 NCHP decodes to a 1985 8.8 3.08 dated coded with in a week or so of the cars build date. Anyone seen a 85 SSP come from the factory with a 8.8?

8.8 started in 86 yes.

Anything is possible.

What month was your car built?

The car was built 7/25/85. The date code on the tag is 5G18 which if I am decoding it correctly is 7/18/85.

That's a relatively late-build date in the model year, so I guess anything is possible.
