Jay Leno's Garage CHP vehicles

My dad restored the 69 Polara. I remember helping on it too.
Few details were off, but nothing too drastic lol (no scanner, and I don't think Spike remembers the siren has an on/off knob lol) We have at least one of each of those cars too, except for the Explorer:D |
Cool! Can't believe they didn't have a Caprice on there though. :/

Nice video and good to see Spike again, he is missed. Yes, it would have been cool if they could have had a restored '94/'95 Caprice in the mix too. :2thumbs:

Cool video. :2thumbs:

Nice video. Michael, who owns the 82 Mustang? I don't think it is part of Jay's collection because it sounded like he wasn't too familiar with the car.

I believe the 69 Polara is owned by Ron Hurwitz, at least the plates match the one he has shown at various shows. It is a very well done accurate restoration. If they had shown a Caprice, this one restored by a friend of mine, is probably the best one out there. It is an actual CHP car that was involved in a LODD and as such, it was taken out of service and held as evidence for a long period. It was finally auctioned and then restored to in-service condition as a tribute to the fallen officer...

It sounded like they had a few other mistakes too, but that shouldn't be a surprise.
