Project 1983 GSP 1:18 scale

1 Attachment(s)
I've been gathering up GMP's to to replicate my GSP collection. The only problem has been GMP never produced a 83-84 front cover so I am going to modify a 1985 CHP to fit my needs. I've already disassembled it completely ( that was a job in itself ! ). I've countersunk the antenna and spot light holes, then filled them. She's now in primer. I have done the initial filling of the 85 grille to give it the 83 look... I am in touch with a guy the is going to sell me the 1:18 scale GSP water slide decals. I have also ordered the 1:18 scale dashmasters for the deck and windshield ( if I can't find a suitable round dash light). My 83 used both at different times while in service.

Front bumper being converted... I will also be filling in the GT fog light holes...

Any comments welcome.

I will be looking for some dogdish eventually...

Nice Bobby! I'm sure the final color-match will be spot-on to the GSP. :D

Thanks Bill,

Front cover in silver and blacked out grille. I also filled the GT fog light holes as well. Now I have to mask off the fender extensions and paint them blue... Then on to the blue on the body...

All silver is done...
Now onto the blue ...

Nice! Once you get caught up on replicating your fleet (of all the years GSP ran them), you could make a 1:18 version of this 1986 Colorado car that was cloned as a GSP -

Now Bill,
You know if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it right! LOL
How did you like the use of the panel rack to hang the hood; trunk lid and doors on? ;)

Unfortunately I was not able to use the 83-86 tail lights from the same car as GMP molded the tail lights differently for the coupes and hatchbacks... And they used the 87-93 tail lights in the 85 CHP...

p.s. Decals are on order
