Armrest Pads off color

I purchased a set of armrest pads from Latemodel Restoration Supply. The only choice they had was Light Gray, so that is what I purchased. Well, the colors don't match, of course. Any one else have better luck matching Opal Gray? Where did you buy it from?

Here's a picture to show how OFF the color is...

I should have said, but I'm sure it is obvious...the new one is on the armrest, the old one is resting up on top.

The only thing I can think of is dying it to mach, or finding a nice original pad. :/

Go to an automotive pint store. Ask for rattle can ( spray paint ) upholstery paint. It appears your color is Titanium Gray.
You will want to purchase....
SEM COLOR COAT Upholstery Paint ( color ) LADERA # 15713

It is an almost exact match to Titanium Gray. I had to do the exact thing with my arm rests I purchased from them.

I have used this on most of the interior items in my car.
Rear deck stop light, console etc. You can not tell the difference.

Spray a light coat, let dry well, spray one another coat. Repeat once more if needed. Do not let run !!!

Its good stuff

The grey repop pads are not in factory grey shades. They are a lighter grey so dying to a specific color is easier.

I wanted to get some new armrests for my 84 GT, but NPD only had the light, neutral shade of grey.

I too will echo this advice. We recently had a color-match issue with Jack's 98 Mustang. I picked up a NOS leather-wrapped steering wheel, but the new wheel did not match the age faded airbag. We also had to color-match a door insert panel that didn't match the surrounding panel. So in the end we used two colors to match the surrounding areas.

Thank guys. I will do this.

You may want to take one of the original arm pads with you to the paint store to match cap colors before buying 2 cans or 3 to get the right or closest color you need.

Thay may have a different brand of upholstery paint.
Just a suggestion.
