That's cool. Those things are actually "vintage" now like our SSP's. The first cop car I drove at the PD was a 1994 LT-1 Caprice. Then we went to the Vic and then to the Limpala.

We had those box cars at the University of Delaware Public Safety (UDPD) where I was a student aid and dispatcher through college, but they were powder blue because the got a "deal" on them :puke:

I got to drive one once at the scene of a minor 10-10PI (pedestrian hit) on a rainy night. The officer gave me the keys to move his car around to block off the street. Due to the one-way streets, I had to take the long way around. It was my only time to slide a cop car sideways into an intersection with the 360's on. :D

I am still going through some old pics.

Yes, the Formula was somewhat slow, 305 w/TBI and 5 speed. But I also remember someone never lining up at a light with me once I traded it for the 97 Firebird Formula with the LT-1 and 275 horses....of course that car was so quick maybe I never noticed anyone else.....lol

BUT SERIOUSLY-
I need someone to do a carfax for me....2FACP72F3MX182499

I went by our SE 5th Av barn and they looked it up and that is the VIN. It shows a certificate of destruction from 03-2003 in the Fla DHSMV comp, but that is all. Would like to know what happened from the last time I saw it, which was in late 2000 in a uf parking lot, to it's demise.:headscratch: The last title is in the name of Progressive Casualty out of Ft. Lauderdale......:No no:

I guess so much for having each of my take home cars....Thanks in advance.

Nice pics, Bret.

My first take-home was a little before yours, and I got lucky...it was a nice '93 that belonged a certain midnight shift Sgt who transferred to Detectives. :)

I'll see if I can dig up a pic (and not the one where Jim M. replaced the red and blue filters out of my Jetsonic with ambers and put a cone on the roof). Those were the days...:dancingevil:
