Correct seats for my 1992 CHP
Hey all. I'm not disappointed since I managed to find some original LX seats that are in good condition, save for a cleaning, but I was told these were from a 92 LX car and I have a feeling they're not the correct seat for my 92 CHP coupe. Were they? My gut says they're from an older LX car since my rear seat has small squares. I believe this was out of an '88 or '89, maybe?
Thanks! http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...psoa6oedhu.jpg |
Those are from a 90 down sir..

Thanks for the reply. That's what I thought...*shrug.
And the search for nice '92 seats continues. |
SMS has the correct upholstery if you'd like to just have yours recovered..
|
Thanks! I think I'm going to go that route. Finding '92 seats is proving to be really difficult!

Save lots of $$$ The correct material from SMS is EXPENSIVE !

Not only are they expensive ( sorry for the 2 posts, but computer sent it before I was done )
But they are VERY S L O W at getting the material out to you. One type of material for my 92 seats was $90.00 a yard. The others were in the $70.00 range per yard. Total to reupholster my car ( with a little left over ) was just over $700.00 something plus shipping. That was in 2012. That is for exact OE material from SMS. So just be ready. John |
I agree that it's expensive, However I made the mistake of buying a cheaper set from TMI. I ended up with $550 in a set I hate to even look at... So if no good used are available it is the only option in my opinion... Once you get the SMS stuff you will not regret it... Just my two cents...

complete recover with the correct material by a competent upholstery company will be somewhere north of 1800.00.
In my opinion it is worth every penny. It only takes a few years of a car sitting outside in the sunlight for the seat cloth to start to fade. The top of the back seat of my 1993 FHP car is literally bone white. Even though the insert material looks like new, when you place NOS material next to it you can see it has faded to a completely different color. Gregg Henderson and I were discussing this very topic yesterday. Even though I have a large supply of original cloth (about 600.00 per car) I will still spend in the neighborhood of 20k completing all the interiors of my cars. |
Wowzers! Did Gregg offer to take the 88 Missouri car off your hands, in order to ease your burden ever so slightly? :)
