CHP Color/Paint for 1985
I am having a bit of a debate with myself about how to repaint my car. It is going to be my occasional driver as well as my show car. First I want to know if CHP ever used solid color cars in the mid 80's and if so what color where those. Secod, if the first is a no, should I paint the car all Black, all White, or Black with a white roof. I am planing on placing all equipment in the car, as if back in service.

My choice is not on there but you already know what that is...:D

No I will not paint it PINK with little purple dots...like in your dreams.

Black and white, brother.

I'm trying to avoid the white doors because local PDs here are all going to B/W and since this car I will be driving a lot and with the kids I want to avoid all the attention from PD. I will not have any decals on the car either.

No solid colored cars until the all-white SMPVs of the early '90s. However, a number of '85 SSPs were converted into the first SMPVs and they were painted various colors with white doors. Here's a silver one:

Nobody has done one of these yet, that would be an awesome show piece Marcos. Otherwise, I'd vote for a black with white roof car. That's how the CHP retired them long ago and a number of them (including mine) were released that way even after they started doing complete repaints. No mistaking what it was/is in that scheme |

I know that my 4-eye was changed over to 10-holes because a previous owner upgraded the brakes and the steelies wouldn't clear. |
