To rebuild or replace... That is the question.

I'm getting ready to pull the trans and motor on my 92. I'm debating on having a local shop rebuild the engine, or should a buy a remanfactured motor from ford?

How important is it to have the original motor in the car? Is it acceptable to install a remanfactured ford engine?

Thanks.

It's all what's important to you. Many of these cars saw replacement engines in-service, so it's not that unusual. I'd definitely hang onto the original drivetrain either way, though.

See if you can find a good, reputable shop to rebuild the motor.

Yeah, that's the challenge. I have trust issues so this may be a challenge.
