Okay, I remember a lot of guys saying they were going to order the new Challenger when it came out. Sooooo, December 3rd is the first day of ordering. Who's ponying up for one ? ?

Ok, with a statement phrased like that, you need your man card revoked.:D

I tend to agree that the interior lacks some decent refinements. Needs to rallye dash instead of the normal dash from back then. Then again, no one has seen the production interior yet.

Well, if it was coming in Limelight green, I would order one. 1st 10k are SRT8 autos. 6spds will be later on. I sure hope for a T/A version but doubt it. Ford hasnt done the Mach 1 yet.

Yea, there website flipflops from 40k to 37995k. Which will probably turn into 50k with a markup just like the 90k GT500.

I think it is the price tag that everyone is balking at. 40k can buy a helluva lot of car. I just think the car companies have to make these things so expensive and build very few of them in order to break even. They can try to make money later but for now this is marketing more than profit making.

I would like to see a production picture and not the concept pictures of the car. I would be willing to pay that kind of $$$ for the concept version but it may look a lot different than the concept.

Matt

I will have one but will wait...I won't pay ADM and my car must be a manual. While the SRT8 would be nice I wouldn't mind having the 5.7 Hemi...but the car will be Sublime in color and if they don't offer it I'll just repaint it the way I want it. So it might be a while before I get my hands on one but I'm not in a hurry....

Here's the first commercial.... http://jalopnik.com/cars/muscle-car-...995-327843.php

I'm with Matt. Any pics of the real thing yet? Who knows how it will differ from the concept?

That is supposed to be it in the commercial I linked.....but I agree, I won't buy anything sight unseen....Plus I want them to have time to work out any bugs or major issues....

There are some teaser pics on Allpar and an Ebay ad. The commercial was the prototype. From what I can see, the grill doesnt have that dumb cross in it, cuda style exhaust tips, aar cuda looking spoiler and the flip gas cap. Here is a link to that ebay ad.

I'm waiting on the 6spd with Sublime paint(hopefully a T/A)!!!!

scoutdrivinrebel 12-10-2007 07:40 PM

Definitely will have to have the 6 speed as well.

Sweet! I still like it!

bmt336 12-12-2007 12:18 AM

all it makes me think is "the new camaro is on the way, the new camaro is on the way...."

1992b4c 12-12-2007 12:25 AM

Camaro would be my 2nd choice. Just feel they let us down with the nose/grill area and tail lights. Looks like a Nissan Morano in the front.

v8only 12-15-2007 12:17 AM

damn. I can't find a single thing bad about that Charger. I think the price is right on too. It's a first year special edition release. That'll be a collector model.

In 09 i've read that they're releasing the FULL production, including a v6 model, manual trans, AND the 5.7 hemi (which btw i've heard is due for a bump in power to 380ish) all of this will bring the 09 challengers back to reality pricing, I can't wait!!

i've got a hemi powered ram and an 05 caravan, and am also in love with current mopar's.

guerro 01-26-2008 02:20 AM

Looks like photos of the production vehicle are out now:

Wow, the heater controls bear a real resemblance to our old stangs.
