Well the GT hit 1850 miles this weekend so I figured I would go ahead and swap out the oil. The shop is my buddy Franks, he is a big Cougar fan in addition to having the Shelby ragtop. The lift was very conveinent. I took about 20 pics, these are the basics.

Nice shop...and lift!

SparkSVT 11-25-2007 11:08 PM

again, that car looks great without the spoiler. I wish I could financially swing a new Bullitt right now...

calimustang 11-28-2007 01:05 AM

Wow.. my 08 GT has 1300 miles now.. :D When did you take delivery on it? I got it on 9/29/07.

bmt336 11-28-2007 11:24 PM

I took delivery on 09-24.

calimustang 11-29-2007 12:59 AM

Close enough but you sure racked the miles a bit more than me. What have you been going to with it? Me just drive it from home to work and few errands, taking it easy.. just ordered hurst shifter and headlights/tail lights/fog blackout covers.. will tint it soon.. what % tints did you do on it? any mods? Happy driving!:2thumbs:

My tint is the darkest legal for rear windows, all around.

Where have I been driving? Every damn where I can think of, and with a big friggin smile on my face! The car is really excellent, I am totally happy with it, even being a big GM F-body fan.
The first 2 weeks in January it will get another 2200 miles on it as I am headed for Houston then DFW then Birmingham again.
If anyone is wondering about these cars, they are great, and there is now a 1500 buck rebate. A base car would be under 24k prob.

NoDrama43 11-29-2007 08:07 PM

07 leftover has a 3250 rebate...as of today......

Nice....I've had quite a few of these cars apart already....one '06 GT convertible we have had completely apart at one time or another.....installed Vortechs and right now installing a single Turbocharger on an '05. I've even got a bunch of almost no mile take off parts that might be worth something in 20 years....If I keep them around that long :D.

These cars are well put together....I freaked out the owner of this car....less than 2000 miles on it when we had the dash out of it for a custom gauge install....

Very nice. I bet they about crapped themselves when they saw the car that way.

That is good....I did the same on my '93 coupe when the heater core went out in '96 (just out of warranty). I carefully removed the entire dash when I needed to swap out cores....then I figured out that the A/C needed to be discharged, and I drove it like that to the dealer. The service writer almost fell out when she saw the car minus the dash. :)

I learned (via the tech that helped me finish) how they "drop" the dash down...I'm still not doing that job myself anymore, though, unless the car is already apart.

There is a way to do the heater core swap on a Fox without discharging the A/C but it takes 2 people and is a bit of a pain....I've done more of those than I like to remember but being in the business I'm in I can't get away from doing them.....but I do charge what it's worth for the job and I still don't like doing them.

Jim, if you decide to put a shaker on it let me know....I'm a CDC Dealer ;)

....and it's in the 60's here :D

mac88chp 11-30-2007 01:56 PM

Yep, those S197s are nice, nice cars. I test drove one a while back and I'm soooooooo tempted to replace my Zinc Yellow '01 GT with a new GT....make mine Grabber Orange!

Congrats to everyone on your new purchases.

calimustang 11-30-2007 02:52 PM

Thanks! Go for it if you desire. Its huge difference by sitting in it and driving it.. much easier to clutch it due to hydralic powered clutch.. unlike fox body.. full weight.. worn my knee out a bit. its much more fun driving it anyway :D on my face every time i drive it.
