In service until 1992 with 55,000 miles on it...bought by a gentleman who drove it for a few years parked with 102,000. Thanks to all from this site for helping me authenticate it.

Such an exciting find. Will it clean up enough to be able to preserve it?

What a Find!
Makes you wonder - how many SSPs are still out there out of sight just waiting to be rescued.
Congrats on your find! |
Very cool find!

This is so cool! It's in much better condition than the '92 that I found this summer. Total rusty mess.
Great looking car! What's the deal with the 2-pc door moldings? Is this how they would have come from Ford? Bryan |
on the 89 cars MSP cut them right at the door decal. In 92 they left them off entirely.

In 1989, "the Mustang experiment" had few cars as we know. The state was divided into 8 districts. The cars were plated with "district" plates, 10, 20, 30 and so on. Each district got one car, in some cases two cars, and shared them between the posts within the district. In other words, they moved around within the district, only used in good weather etc. 3015 would have been the third district car which could have been in Flint at the time of your documentation find.
In any case great find! |
Very interesting information, Joe, thanks for posting it up. I hope all is well with you!
