89 Nevada SSP...info
so I got a smoking deal on a mangled 89 Nevada SSP. after driving a total of 17 hours to get it. the car has just about everything still on it minus the engine block and a few mix nick-nacks. but its got all the grounding straps, the AOD trans cooler I been looking for, and other SSP specific stuff. I saw the vin is on the registry. but the car is totaled and probably not going to get repaired. but if anyone has info on the car it would help me decide. I cant open the door yet since its ****ed and the buck tags r just hard to reach. if not ill see what I can dig up. but another SSP almost dead for the grave yard list. ill post pics in a bit. vin 1FABP40E8KF226638

Congrats on the new SSP. I remember seeing an ad for one like you've described. I have no NHP info to offer you, but if you get the buck tags off the car, please post up pictures of them. We can add the car to the SSP VIN Project.

I got to pull front header panel to get good shots of buck tags. Well the ad was on CL for about a month or so on the car. I bought it for possible restoration but the car is totally ****ed. From the driver side door frame to the roof and stops at the end of quarter panel. Would need just about half a car to repair. Way more then i want to get into. So got to pull tags n other identifier stuff off and part the rest out. N well finish my 90 SSP with parts from it.

What's the title status of the car? Someone may be willing to repair still, if it were closer to me I would have picked it up to restore.
|
honestly I don't know the status of title got it with a neveda bill of sale. but the car is pretty beat driver side is ****ed badly. I will try and post pics of it it possible. DSO 72-0094

Sad it can't be saved. Good luck parting it out.

Wow. Thats too bad for this car. The VIN is 4 off of mine and two off of the one NHP Mike had. Man.....too bad it can't be saved.

That's a trip. The DSO on this car is 72-0094. Mine is 72-0095.
Also the paint code for this car "1K" or light gray. On my car the paint code is "3R" for medium shadow blue. You have a unique car here my friend. |
I'd be curious to see the Marti report on this car.
You may have a super rare car here my friend. |
87 notchfox sent you a PM.

I got this one added to the VIN Project -
http://www.specialservicemustang.net...info226638.htm It is not listed as a NHP car at this time. With the 1K paint code, I would prefer to see some type of NHP agency identification tied to the car before saying it was used by the NHP. To explain this further, we've seen "CALIFORNIA" written on buck tags for cars that were not used by the CHP - they were State-owned cars. I'm not saying that K226638 was a Nevada State-owned car or not, but the listing in our Project is consistent with the wording on the buck tag - NEVADA. |
Last night I had a text chat with Mike from NHPcars. Mike said this appears to possibly be a Mustang that was used for the Clark County School district(or something along those lines). It may have been ordered as an add on to a NHP vehicle order.
So still a rare car in my opinion. How many Mustangs do you think Clark county School district used? Quote:

exactly what I was thinking. Not a NHP car but something ordered under a state contract etc.
|
well your guesses on the car is as good as mine. idk what they might have used it for but it has the holes for the spot lights and a antenna on the passenger side quarter. aside from the holes on the side of center console and cluster area. I really wish I could save it but my friend that does body work and loves mustangs wont touch it.
|
well now that I remember the guy I got it from did say something about the car being used as some kind of campus patrol car.
|
thanks for throwing up on the list.

Just FYI, after my NHP Ssp was retired from state service, the Clark county school police got it. It was a detectives car from what I hear. And, back in the mid 90's the Clark county school district would get retired Nhp cars and put them in service. It had something to do with their lack of police budget.
They used to repaint retired Nhp cars all white and add their decals. But, as time progressed they just left them blue and now CCSDPD runs the same blue as Nhp. And they buy new police vehicles. |
nice right on. thanks for the info. I think I might get better info on this car then my 90 govt SSP
